Lack of commitment

You can manage your lack of commitment.

Commitment is a personal virtue. As it relates to daily prospecting, commitment is something only you can make and only you can keep. You can blame others for distracting you, but you are the master of your commitments.

What does it mean to commit?

It means defining your commitment.

It means acting on your commitment.

It means repeating your commitment.

Define your commitment
To ensure success in selling, you must be effective at prospecting consistently. Consistency starts with your personal commitment to yourself.

Act on your commitment
Once you have made the commitment, act on it daily. When you do what you committed to doing, you feel energized and satisfied.

Repeat your commitment
Continued success requires continued commitment. As simplistic as it sounds, it is just as profound: you should recommit every day. There is something powerful about self-talk and staying focused on what you are committed to doing.

Remember what Roger Bannister and Peter F. Druker said about commitment:

The man who can drive himself further once the effort gets painful is the man who will win.
Roger Bannister, First to break four-minute mile

Unless commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes; but no plans.
Peter F. Drucker
